Introducing our new Director of Coaching, Alex (Arkadiusz) Prus
Heartland Soccer Club is excited to announce Alex (Arkadiusz) Prus as our new Director of Coaching.
Alex has over 30 years of combined playing, coaching, and refereeing experience. He has been a USSF “A” licensed coach since 2003, has an advanced national diploma from NSCAA and a masters degree in physical education. Most recently he has been an international FIFA referee and has officiated such prestigious clubs as Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid, AC Milan, and Barcelona. Alex has officiated games in Poland, Mexico, Costa Rica, the Cayman Islands, and Bermuda. He served six years on a FIFA panel, is the longest tenured official in Major League Soccer and continues to serve on a review panel for MLS officials. Alex has extensive management experience from his nine year involvement with No. 1 Soccer Camps, serving as a goal keeping/striker/camp director. He has quality experience in developing training programs, mentoring players and managing coaches. Alex was a professional goal keeper in Poland and started in over 100 games. His many contacts in the NCAA college ranks due to the numerous games he has refereed since 2000 will be of benefit to our older players.
Alex, his wife, and his 10-year old daughter will soon be moving to Cedar Rapids. Alex also has a son who currently works in the front office of MLS’s FC Dallas organization.
